God and His Petty Flock

A few days ago, over some hot rice and curry, a heated debate ensued. Lunch time at my workplace is essentially a discussion between a few disgruntled libertarians. This time however, religion was the focus issue. Being the only Hindu in a group of Christians, I decided to stay put and just listen to the arguments.

The topic of the debate – “Which religion is supreme?”

Fallen Angel

Fallen Angel

In your corner, sitting by the bedside. wondering how darkness can claim so many. Blood is spilled everywhere. Its yours. From the gashes that they left. From the daggers left in your back. Darkness came to claim you. And you stretched your hand. Slowly the light is disappearing. Darkness. Pure. Unadulterated darkness.

Angels can fall. Its a self righteous suicide. You look up at the unsmiling dark skies and find comfort. Smiles are deceptive. The daggers in your back remind you of that every breathing moment. Angels do fall. They have fallen before. They will keep falling. And darkness will keep claiming them.

Maybe they dont deserve no angels. Maybe it was meant to be. Maybe angels deserve to die. Maybe it was the best thing. That another angel fell.

Marrying the Gypsy Soul

“I am losing sleep”
“Why is it so?”
“I don’t know. I can’t get myself to close my eyes.”
“Do you think of something in particular.”
“Yes.”
“What is it?”
“Grass. Lush green grass. And a hill.”
“Is there a reason you think of these…?”
“No. I mean I don’t know.”
“Have you ever been to such a place…? Maybe when you were a child?”

When I am dead…

A verse that really touched me… posted here by Kunal Goel…

When I am dead, and over me bright April
Shakes out her rain drenched hair,
Tho you should lean above me broken hearted,
I shall not care.
For I shall have peace.
As leafey trees are peaceful
When rain bends down the bough.
And I shall be more silent and cold hearted
Than you are now.

A New Resolve

A small voice calls into the morning
The dour words of the night forgotten
I move on from hour to hour
To write for myself, a new Destiny… (more…)

Feeling… Like a stone

A sordid feeling in my fingers and toes… The perfect song for the moment! Cheers to the health of Audioslave!!!!

On a cold wet afternoon
no room for love and emptiness
by a freeway
I confess I was lost in the pages
of a book full of death
reading how we’ll die alone
and if a god will lay to rest
anywhere we want to go
in your house
I long to be
room by room
patiently
I’ll wait for you there
like a stone
I’ll wait for you there
alone

Mapping of A Headache

So after getting a small round of firing from my boss (he wasn’t totally unjustified actually, these days I need people to scream at me to snap me out of my frequent reveries) I started getting a mild headache. Couple that with the regular monday blues, the denouncing of your hero John Dewey, a cigarette which makes you feel irritated because you’re trying to quit and a long argument with your father about nothing in particular… and what do you have?

A splitting headache.

Terrors of Intimacy

Do we really know the people we spend our most intimate moments with? I am worried. I cannot recollect the faces of people I have been close to… Friends, boyfriends and even some family members… In that order.
