I Wonder

Here are some things that really make me wonder. I would love it if someone would be nice enough to answer some of the questions that I put here…

1. I wonder what people mean when they claim to be “fun-loving”. Do they mean to imply that other people don’t love to have fun?

2. If you thank some people, the automatic response is ‘mention not’. Does that mean that they do not want you to ever say thank you again… is ‘mention not’ even a valid phrase?

3. Why is ‘Lyke’ cooler than ‘Like’? Do we celebrate the death of English language?

4. Some people claim to live life to the fullest. What does that mean?

5. If you really pray hard, does God answer your wish?

6. What good is remorse if you do not act on it?

7. Why should I make money now to enjoy when I no longer have the time, inclination or desire to?

8. Why can’t my car stay new forever?

9. Why do the things that are bad for me feel so good?

Heh heh heh… I don’t know the answers to any of those questions, and I’ve wondered about them myself. About 2… perhaps they expect you to say, “Not.” Atleast, that’s what I do whenever I’m told to do that…

Living life to the fullest means you take unnecessary chances and risk losing what you’ve worked hard for in exchange for a fleeting thrill.

People never say an accountant lives life to the fullest but they say it about sky divers and stunt men and people who skinny dip in sub temperature waters. Risk is what is involved in living life to the fullest, risking safety to see if you’ll live, to see how much adrenaline you can pump and still live.

Do auto mechanics live life to the fullest? Do mathematicians, physicists and academics or stall pickers live life to the fullest the way high risk professions do? You never hear it said that a man that cleans horse stalls for a living is living life to the fullest unless of course that’s his day job. He climbs into bear caves at night and now he’s living life to the fullest and highest level of stupidity possible.

This is what I think about it:

    1. I wonder what people mean when they claim to be “fun-loving”. Do they mean to imply that other people don’t love to have fun?
Answer: To me, fun-loving means as simple as doing even things like cleaning your two bathrooms and enjoying it. But you dont do anything which you dont feel like doing (smiling at LAB, for instance).. Its all about what you like at that point of time and not thinking about sentences like: would that be okey?? is it cool?? would it look good?? I hope I am not hurting anyone?? that would look stupid… etc etc etc………..
    2. If you thank some people, the automatic response is ‘mention not’. Does that mean that they do not want you to ever say thank you again… is ‘mention not’ even a valid phrase?
Answer: Thats a phrase full of hipocracy with outrageous show of modesty. When we were in colleage (those colleage days… I miss them), we had actually started the phrase “always mention” instead…
    3. Why is ‘Lyke’ cooler than ‘Like’? Do we celebrate the death of English language?
Answer: Thats what happens to a person/object/language which is handled simultaneously but separately by multiple peoples, only few of them will remain pure. The way they say muggles and pure-blood in harry-potter. You probably have not heard chinese and korean pronounciation… lucky you!! About “Lyke”, we (that “we” is for we Indians perhaps) have deep inside a buringing desire to be american because america is cool!!
    4. Some people claim to live life to the fullest. What does that mean?
    Answer: same as 1
    5. If you really pray hard, does God answer your wish?
Answer: You know what, their are certain things which you rightfully deserve (rightfully is THE word), you never pray to God for them. You earn them. You only pray when you know in your heart, you dont deserve (right now… and you are putting your efforts to achieve that) and rather wants a favour from God as a return favour of praying Him. (yes!! You do think you are doing a favour to Him! Ask yourself). So its all about give and take!! Read the question again… “pray hard?!!”. But yes, it can be used to reprogram your mind so that you can direct your 100% efforts towards what you are trying to achieve and avoiding the part which is taking up some of your effort calculating the uncertainity/gains/losses/ etc(praying is one part, you have to move yourself as well).
    6. What good is remorse if you do not act on it?
Answer: There are three kinds of people in this world: One- Who dont learn from their own mistakes and keep on repeating it. Two- Who do learn from their mistakes and try to avoid the same in future. Three- Who learn for other’s mistakes. Ones remorse might serve good for the third kind of people.
    7. Why should I make money now to enjoy when I no longer have the time, inclination or desire to?
Answer: This is a subset of Question 1 and 4 and my answer is same.
    8. Why can’t my car stay new forever?
Answer: Because they launch new models year after year… And they want you to buy “newer” cars…
    9. Why do the things that are bad for me feel so good?
Answer: I am not sure if you have read IIIrd law of thermodynamics. It states: Every system, let alone, tends to maximum possible disorderness. See!! That applies to non-living things as well!!
